SPENDING AN AFTERNOON IN ARROYO DE SAN SERVÁN

Purpose and Audience:
The purpose of these materials is to get the students to practice giving directions to a place  based on street names and other buildings of their village, Arroyo de San Serván:
It's on Constitución Avenue next to the tennis courts.
This is a fairly simple role-play intended for beginners. In short, students will call up their classmates and ask if they want to go with them. The student who receives the phone call will suggest an activity and give directions on how to get there. This activity also reviews the superlative (best, newest, hottest) and the hours (at six o’clock).

Warmup or Preclass Activity:
Go over the other activities to revise how to give directions. This would be the last activity of the ones proposed in English.

Class Set-up:
The class is divided into two groups: callers and receivers. Callers get a Partnersheet B plus a map of Arroyo de San Serván. Receivers get a Partnersheet A  plus a What to do in Arroyo de San Serván sheet. Callers 'call' the receivers and ask them out to do something. The receivers suggest an activity and give directions on how to get there. Callers record the location on the map and the activity details on their activity sheet.
